Imports of marble and granite waste products continue to maintain substantial growth. In the first quarter, 1.58 million tons of marble and granite were imported. Valued at 26.8 billion U.S. dollars, the value of imports increased by 36.5% over the same period last year.

In the first quarter, the export of construction black natural limestone stones was 2.29 million tons, valued at 628 million US dollars. The export value increased by 16% over the same period last year. The abolition of export tax rebates for marble and granite blocks and plate products does not seem to hinder the overall growth of black natural limestone stone exports. In the first quarter, granite products exported 1.62 million tons, valued at 428 million U.S. dollars, and the export value increased by 3.9% over the same period last year. The export of marble products was 240,000 tons, valued at 140 million U.S. dollars, and the export value increased by 28.4% over the same period last year. The export of marble blocks continued to grow, and the export of granite blocks fell sharply. In the first quarter, the export of marble blocks was 28,400 tons, valued at 2.39 million US dollars, and the export value increased by 38.2% over the same period last year. The export of granite waste products was 137,100 tons, valued at 5.62 million U.S. dollars, and the export value was 54.8% lower than the same period last year.
