If the country and the export value of natural black honed limestone in 2001 are ranked, Spain exported nearly 47 million euros of natural black honed limestone to the UK, ranking first. It is closely followed by Italy with an export value of 42 million euros. Then came China with an export value of 23 million euros, China followed by India with an export value of 22 million euros, and after India was Norway with an export value of only 12 million euros. Germany exports marble, granite and shale to the United Kingdom through the strait by sea, and the export volume is only 5 million euros. Sorted by the types of natural black honed limestone exported, Italy ranks first. Over 44% of the marble imported by the UK is provided by Italian suppliers. Portugal ranks second, and Britain imports 13% of marble from Portugal. Spain ranks third, with 10% of the Hercules imported from Spain by the United Kingdom. In terms of exporting marble raw materials to the UK, Portugal has gradually been overtaken by Spain, Turkey and China. In general, the imports of finished marble products from the UK are on the rise. 27% of the granite raw materials imported by the United Kingdom come from Norway. Therefore, Norway is now the largest supplier of granite raw materials to the United Kingdom. Italy is second. India and Denmark occupy third and fourth places respectively. At present, the amount of raw granite imported from France by the United Kingdom has been significantly reduced. India’s exports of finished granite to the UK accounted for 33%, valued at 8 million euros, with the UK ranking first and Italy second. However, Italy’s market share in this area is now significantly lower than that of India and China.

Regarding Britain's import of shale raw materials, China is Britain's most important supplier, accounting for 60% of the supply. Followed by India and Brazil. In the UK, the most important supplier of imported shale processed products, the supply accounted for 75%. Although Spain is the most important supplier of shale processed products in the UK, Spain’s market share in this area is gradually losing to China, India and Brazil.
