After more than 1,000 years of dynasties such as Sui, Tang, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, a total of 14,278 stone panels were carved, with a total weight of more than 1,000 tons. This is the earliest record of the development and utilization of stone resources in Dashiwo.

Beijing is the capital of Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and 33 emperors ascended the throne here successively. The palace buildings of the Forbidden City, as well as the exquisite stone buildings used in the palaces, courtyards, and royal tombs in the capital are basically from Dashiwo.

According to the History of the Yuan Dynasty, there were quarrying bureaus in all of the Yuan Dynasty, which were responsible for collecting precious white onyx marble floor from all over the country. Among them, white marble was collected from Dashiwo in Fangshan. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, stone mining in Dashiwo reached an astonishing speed. Those stone railings, stone treads, the altars of the three major halls, the Yonglu Road, the Huabiao and Jinshui Bridge of Tiananmen Square, and those stone handicrafts such as stone lions, sundial, Jialiang, and white onyx marble floor chishou are exquisitely conceived and unique. In addition, the well-documented ancient buildings, such as Tiananmen Square, Jinshui Bridge, Lugou Bridge, Temple of Heaven, Temple of Earth, Shenyang Forbidden City, Ming Tombs, Qingdong Tombs, etc., mostly use white marble from Dashiwo.
