Tiger Eye Onyx Tile: The King’s Stone for Wealth and Confidence
Tiger Eye Onyx Tile, also known as Tiger Spar or Tiger Eye Stone, has been revered for centuries. In Western cultures, it is commonly referred to as “Tiger’s Eye”, named for its flickering light, resembling the bright, sharp gaze of a tiger—a symbol of authority and power.
A Stone of Protection and ProsperityThroughout history, Tiger Eye Stone has been believed to possess protective powers:
- The ancients thought it could ward off evil eyes and instill fear in those with wicked hearts.
- It is also known as a “Prosperity Stone”, believed to boost confidence, courage, and attract wealth, especially for men.
- Due to these properties, Tiger Eye Onyx is often crafted into bracelets, rings, earrings, pendants, and other jewelry pieces.
In China’s Yuan Dynasty, the scholar Li Cai documented in Xie Yuyu that during the first year of Kublai Khan’s reign, the Mabel Kingdom (historically referred to as Zhuluo Kingdom, located in today’s Indian Coromandel Coast) paid tribute with various precious treasures, including:
- Corals, pearls, aromatic resins ("Five Fragrances and Seven Treasures"), and
- A hundred pieces of "Lin Jingshi", believed to be Tiger Eye Stone.
Later, Zhang Hongzhao, a famous geologist of the Republican Era, identified this mysterious “Eye Stone” as most similar to the Tiger Eye Stone found in Africa. Due to the abundance of giraffes in Africa (historically referred to as unicorns), it was named the Eye Stone.
A Gemstone with a Legacy of Nearly a Thousand YearsFrom its protective symbolism to its historical significance, Tiger Eye Stone has held a place of honor for nearly a millennium. Whether used for jewelry, home décor, or spiritual protection, Tiger Eye Onyx Tile continues to captivate with its natural brilliance and timeless appeal.
