When the outdoor terrazzo pavers surface is used as the skating rink ground, the following measures should be taken during construction:

1) The terrazzo pavers surface should be disconnected from the surrounding buildings (such as houses, structures or roads, etc.) to prevent temperature stress caused by the large outdoor temperature difference, which may cause cracks in the terrazzo surface.

2) The terrazzo pavers surface layer and its underlying structural layer should be equipped with two-way steel grids to improve the integrity and crack resistance of the entire ground and prevent surface cracks due to uneven foundation settlement or improper filling.

3) The grid inserts should be copper strips, and the surface layer grid inserts should be arranged in a circumferential direction. In addition to the cement grout, it needs to be drilled and poured into the terrazzo pavers for anchoring with iron wire or wood screws. The appropriate spacing between grid strips is 1500～2000mm.

4) The terrazzo pavers surface layer should be laid in a circumferential direction. The laying method is: pave from the downhill to the uphill direction, first the outer ring and then the inner ring is broken, and no construction joints are left when laying.

5) When laying a sloped surface course, prevent water or cement slurry from appearing at the grid strips in the downslope direction. If it is not handled carefully, there will be holes and pores during polishing, which will cause the quality of the surface layer to hollow and loose the grid strips.

6) Avoid laying the surface layer under scorching sun, rainy weather, or windy weather to avoid plastic shrinkage cracks on the surface layer. After laying, it should be covered and maintained in time.

7) The polishing of the surface layer should adopt the "old grinding" method (that is, after laying at room temperature, it is delayed by 2 to 3 days than when the terrazzo surface layer is started) to enhance the hardness of the surface layer and prevent the terrazzo pavers surface layer. The strength is too low to cause defects such as loosening of the grid strips.
