a. Crack Repair
- Analyze the original terrazzo grey tile floor’s cement type, cement grade, and the particle size of the stone.
- Choose a cement and gravel mix similar to the original floor.
- Expand the joint along the natural direction of the crack.
- Blend the selected cement, stone, and gradation appropriately.
- Clean the cracks thoroughly before applying a concrete interface agent to ensure strong bonding of the new material with the original floor.
b. Mechanical Polishing
- Confirm that all cracks have been treated and the newly embedded terrazzo grey tiles are solidified with sufficient strength.
- Use a grinding disc with 600-mesh high-grade oilstone for initial polishing.
- Evaluate the results after grinding and, if needed, use a higher-mesh oilstone for finer grinding.
- Pay extra attention to repaired cracks, ensuring a level surface before stopping grinding.
- Use a portable small grinder for polishing inner corners.
c. Complementary Color Processing
- Clean the floor using oxalic acid after mechanical polishing.
- Inspect the crack repairs, mainly checking for color differences in the floor finish.
- If there is significant chromatic aberration, consult a professional for color correction to minimize the color difference.
d. Applying the Protective Agent
- Ensure the floor is dust-free before applying the protective agent.
- Apply the stone protective agent evenly, ensuring complete coverage without any omissions.
