Construction Process
3.1.15 Oxalic Acid Scrubbing
- To enhance the effect after waxing, the surface layer of the grindstone should be pickled appropriately before waxing.
- Generally, oxalic acid is used for scrubbing.
- Preparation:
- Mix oxalic acid and water to form a 10% concentrated solution.
- Dip a broom in the solution and sprinkle it on the surface.
- Gently rub with oilstone to bring out the natural color of cement and stone particles.
- Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth.
- This process must be completed after all other construction work, and the surface must remain uncontaminated after pickling.
3.1.16 Wrong Glazing
- Wrap wax in a thin cloth and apply a thin layer to the surface.
- After drying, replace the oilstone with a wooden block covered with canvas or linen.
- Attach the block to a stone grinder and use the same method to apply a second coat of wax.
- Continue waxing and grinding until the surface is smooth and shiny.
