Dry Hanging Stone Installation Guide

1. Slotting Methods

A. Perpendicular Notch Slotting

  • The notch should be perpendicular to the back of the slate landscaping stone wall.
  • Dimensions:
    • Length: 1.5 to 2 times the width of the pendant.
    • Width: Thickness of the pendant + 2mm.
    • Depth: No greater than 2/3 of the stone panel thickness but less than 10mm.

B. Dry Hanging Hole Slotting

  • The hole should be perpendicular to the back of the stone panel.
  • Dimensions:
    • Diameter and reaming part: Must match the size of the back bolt.
    • Depth: No greater than 2/3 of the stone panel thickness but not less than 7mm.

2. Installation Methods

A. Using Connection Pendant

  1. Fix the connection pendant on the skeleton.
  2. Fill the groove with prepared epoxy adhesive (epoxy AB glue).
  3. Push the panel onto the fixed pendant to secure it.

B. Using Back Bolt

  1. Insert the back bolt into the back bolt hole.
  2. Secure the back bolt to the stone panel using a special tool.
  3. Install the stone wall panel on the steel frame using the back bolt pendant.
  4. Level and fix the panel in place.

3. Dry Hanging Stone Guidelines

  1. All skeleton steel must be hot-dip galvanized.
  2. Hanging fasteners (flat steel and bolts) should be hot-dip galvanized or made of stainless steel.
  3. Welds must be full and firm.
  4. Steel frame welds should be derusted, coated with two layers of anti-rust paint, and finished with silver powder paint.
  5. Expansion bolts must meet specifications and design requirements for pull-out strength.
  6. Grooving must be done mechanically to ensure it meets design width requirements.
  7. Joint Adhesion:
    • Horizontal and vertical joints must be fully filled with adhesive.
    • Glue seams should be even, smooth, and free of burrs.
  8. Panel Size Limitations:
    • For 25mm thick stone: Max area per panel = 1m².
    • For stone thicker than 25mm: Max area per panel = 1.5m².
