Small Sample Test for Sandstone Veneer Panel Disease Treatment

Based on previous construction experience, on-site inspections, and experimental research, we developed the following comprehensive treatment plan:

Treatment Plan:

1️⃣ Completely remove the original protective agent from the installed stone.

2️⃣ Ensure that newly installed stone is protected on the bottom and surrounding sides before installation.

3️⃣ Perform overall color correction after installation to eliminate chromatic aberration.

4️⃣ Apply surface protection treatment once color consistency is achieved.

Sample Testing Process:

To ensure effectiveness, we conducted a sample test for each process before full-scale implementation.

✅ Protective Agent Removal Test:

• Carried out on previously replaced stone.
• Figure 5 shows a before-and-after comparison (left: untreated diseased stone; right: cleaned stone).

✅ Color Difference Processing Test:

• The stone supplier provided two contrasting samples (Figure 6: left - dark stone, right - light stone).
• The dark stone remained unchanged, while the light stone underwent color enhancement to match the darker shade.
• Figure 7 displays the final effect (left: original dark stone, right: color-enhanced light stone).

✅ Protective Treatment Test:

• Multiple options were proposed.
• The owner selected F-104 Stone Sealant for the final protective treatment.

Pilot Test & Full Implementation:

✔ After successful sample testing, a 60m² pilot test was conducted on a designated wall section.

✔ Upon owner approval, we proceeded with large-scale cleaning and protection of new sandstone veneer panels before installation.

This meticulous approach ensured the best possible results while eliminating potential defects in the sandstone veneer panels.
