As far as Australian red sandstone stone is concerned, sandstone can be divided into two categories. The first type is derived from the seabed (saltwater rocks), and the second type is derived from the riverbed (freshwater rocks).
After research and laboratory tests, the Australian provinces such as New South Wales, South Australia and Darwin are all saltwater stones. Therefore, the calcium content is quite high. Therefore, after installation, when the red sandstone stone is exposed to the sun and air, the oxidation rate is faster than that of similar or other stones, and then negative color changes occur. It may be that the erosion degree of seabed torrents is less frequent and correspondingly lower, so the composition of the saline rock is coarse. Compared with freshwater stone, the combination is looser and the texture is simpler.
Another sandy and gravel-rich region in Australia is Queensland. After careful and laboratory tests, the province's Heliton District and Norhamton District produced freshwater red sandstone stone. Because the flow rate of the river bed is constant and the speed can be imagined, the composition of freshwater stones is finer than saltwater red sandstone stone, and then denser. Due to the great difference between the surrounding environment of the riverbed and the seabed during its formation, coupled with the constant flow, the freshwater stone presents richer colors and textures. Depending on the conditions of the mining area at that time, the colors and textures of each mining area are slightly different. The freshwater rocks that have been mined generally have four major colors. They are: brown with dark brown or yellow texture; white background with lavender clouds (pure off-white-only produced by Norhamton); pure brown and yellow and the first three colors are mixed to show cloud-like colorfulness.
