Return Alkali Disease Treatment Process

1. Water Cut

Water sources must be completely eliminated to prevent alkali disease. This includes:

• Visible water (mopping, direct water contact)
• Water on the back of the slabs
• Soil moisture, rain, and high humidity

Consider all possible sources of moisture to ensure the stone remains dry.

2. Drying

Ensure proper drying using the following methods:

• Natural ventilation (open doors and windows)
• Pump drying (higher power preferred)
• Blowers for increased air circulation
• Floor heating, baking lamps, or flame jet heating (use with caution)
• Quicklime for moisture absorption (use with caution)

3. Cleaning

• Remove heavy alkali deposits using a spatula.
• Wipe the stone surface with a dry cloth or use a scouring pad with a polishing machine.

4. Protection

4.1 Sealing Joints

• Use marble glue or caulking agent to seal the joints of the sandstone slabs.

4.2 Surface Treatment

• Apply a permeable stone brightening agent using a brush or soft cloth (20m²/L).
• Let it sit for at least 48 hours before wiping the surface clean.

4.3 Repeated Treatment

• Reapply the brightening agent every week.
• After 2-3 treatments, the risk of alkali bloom is significantly reduced.
