Seam Cleaning and Caulking

1. Cutting and Cleaning the Gap:
• Use a hand-held cutter to cut the gap and remove any adhesive residue.
• Thoroughly clean the working surface using a dust pusher and vacuum cleaner.
2. Filling the Gap:
• Fill the gap with a grout that matches the color of the rainbow natural sandstone.
• Use a spatula to scrape away excess grout at a 45-degree angle, ensuring the caulking agent is pressed in fully.
• The gap should be completely filled—bulging is the standard.
3. Post-Caulking Precautions:
• If the caulking is not full, the colloid will shrink after solidification, leading to a half-seam appearance after sanding.
• Protect the caulking from rain, foot traffic, and water exposure for at least 24 hours.

11.1 Initial Ground Grinding

• For areas with a particularly high cut, use a grinder to flatten the surface.
• Ensure that the high side is ground over the lower side.
• Widen the grinding point as much as possible to prevent excessive height differences when using larger grinding machines in subsequent processes.

• Use professional machinery with a stone pore cleaning brush (wire brush) to remove damaged or broken dirt from the rainbow natural sandstone.
• This ensures that the repair glue bonds effectively to the stone.

Importance of This Step:

• If the damaged stone surface is not cleaned with a wire brush, dirt will remain, weakening the bond between the repair glue and the sandstone.
• Poor bonding can cause the surface layer to peel off, reducing the quality and durability of the repair.
