Feldspar Natural Red Sandstone: Particle Composition

      1. Quartz:
        • Surface is clean, without cleavage.
        • Appears as a gray-white interference color under orthogonal light.
      2. Feldspar:
        • Mainly composed of orthoclase and plagioclase, with a small amount of striped feldspar.

      (1) Orthoclase:

        • Strong kaolinization, surface appears turbid and red.
        • Some orthoclase exhibits weak secondary changes, maintaining a clean surface.
        • Two groups of cleavage, one of which is complete.
        • Under orthogonal light, it appears gray in interference color, with rare twin crystals.

      (2) Plagioclase:

        • Surface is clean.
        • Cross-beam surface exhibits a double-crystal lattice.

      (3) Striped Feldspar:

        • Characterized by a striped structure.
      1. Muscovite:
        • Exhibits a single group of complete cleavage.
        • Colorless or slightly greenish, with bright interference color.
      2. Cuttings:

      (1) Veined Quartz:

        • Composed of polycrystalline quartz.
        • Features a corona of the crown and extinction.
        • Extremely clean.

      (2) Quartz Natural Red Sandstone:

        • Composed of quartz with enlarged edges cemented together.
        • Clastic structure is clearly visible.

      (3) Siltstone:

        • Composed of silt-grade quartz and clay minerals.

      (4) Quartzite:

        • Composed of elongated quartz inlays.

      (5) Flint:

        • Inlaid with microcrystalline quartz.
