Feldspar Natural Red Sandstone: Particle Composition
- Quartz:
- Surface is clean, without cleavage.
- Appears as a gray-white interference color under orthogonal light.
- Feldspar:
- Mainly composed of orthoclase and plagioclase, with a small amount of striped feldspar.
(1) Orthoclase:
- Strong kaolinization, surface appears turbid and red.
- Some orthoclase exhibits weak secondary changes, maintaining a clean surface.
- Two groups of cleavage, one of which is complete.
- Under orthogonal light, it appears gray in interference color, with rare twin crystals.
(2) Plagioclase:
- Surface is clean.
- Cross-beam surface exhibits a double-crystal lattice.
(3) Striped Feldspar:
- Characterized by a striped structure.
- Muscovite:
- Exhibits a single group of complete cleavage.
- Colorless or slightly greenish, with bright interference color.
- Cuttings:
(1) Veined Quartz:
- Composed of polycrystalline quartz.
- Features a corona of the crown and extinction.
- Extremely clean.
(2) Quartz Natural Red Sandstone:
- Composed of quartz with enlarged edges cemented together.
- Clastic structure is clearly visible.
(3) Siltstone:
- Composed of silt-grade quartz and clay minerals.
