Ledgestone Wall Cladding Construction Precautions
A. Cement Selection for Different Stone Colors
-
Beige and white stone:
- Use black cement for the mortar mixture.
- Apply white cement to the back of the stone.
- Dark-colored stones: Use black cement for both the mortar mixture and backing.
B. Cement Mortar Preparation
- Use a dry and hard cement mortar mix (it should form a solid lump when kneaded).
- Apply a 5mm thick layer of pure cement mortar on the back of the stone before installation.
C. Typesetting & Pattern Matching Before Installation
- Arrange and match colors & patterns indoors before construction.
- Identify and install main sections first, then proceed to secondary areas.
- This process is crucial because natural stone varies in color and texture.
D. Caulking for Ledgestone Wall Cladding
- For dark stones: Use black cement.
- For light-colored stones: Use white cement or white cement mixed with appropriate pigment powder.
- Avoid using marble glue for caulking, as it may cause surface contamination.
E. Post-Installation Protection
- Apply mirror protection after installation to safeguard against oil stains, acid, and alkali corrosion.
Wall Stone Installation Guidelines
- When installing stone on indoor walls, avoid grouting, except for dark-colored stones.
- Grouting can cause uneven surface coloration due to varying water absorption rates.
- White stones are especially prone to rust spots if grouting is used.
