2. Geological Structure and Deposit Characteristics

2.1 Geological Faults and Structural Formation

  • A major east-west fault runs along the north side of the mountain, spanning 25 km with an inclination towards the south and a dip angle of 50°–70°.
  • Due to geological compression, the mountain structure has developed into a tightly closed fold formation.
  • The folds trend east-west, and their north and south flanks have a steep dip angle of 70°–80°.

2.3 Deposit Characteristics

Lithology and Weathering

  • The primary lithology of the deposit consists of secondary quartzite, with small portions of marble.
  • The ore body is highly exposed, with a strongly weathered surface that appears dark brown.
  • The oxidized weathered layer extends approximately 5m deep.
  • The origin of the deposit is acidic volcanic lava, transformed through hydrothermal metasomatism.

Ore Composition and Color Varieties

  • The ore is brittle and exhibits diverse coloration, including:
    • Blue-white and light green (60%)
    • Pure white (20%)
    • Flesh red (14%)
    • Striped red and white (5%)

Structural Features and Mining Suitability

  • The deposit has a complex geological structure, with well-developed fractures and joints.
  • Tectonic stress has cut the surface rock into cube-like blocks, making it highly favorable for mining.
  • The maximum block size is around 10m³, with typical sizes ranging between 2–5m³.

Mineralogy and Physical Properties

  • The ore has an extremely fine cryptocrystalline structure with a massive, translucent appearance.
  • Main mineral components:
    • Cryptocrystalline quartz (~98%)
    • Sericite (~1%)
    • Trace minerals: Blue lineite, actinite, rutile, tourmaline
  • Chemical composition:
    • SiO₂: 97.2%–97.8%
    • Fe₂O₃: 0.19%–0.2%
    • Al₂O₃: 0.54%–0.85%
    • Radioactivity: None detected
  • Hardness (Mohs scale): 6.7–7.0
  • Specific gravity: 2.65–3.2

2.4 Jade Marble Classification and Quality Assessment

  • Collected samples have been evaluated by gemstone experts.
  • Varieties identified:
    • Blue-white, light green, flesh-red, and black-white striped varieties are classified as Aventurine Jade.
    • Pure white variety is identified as Jingbai Jade Marble Stone.
  • Quality Characteristics:
    • Jade marble stone has an extremely fine texture, with an oily sheen, similar to "suet fat jade".
    • Exceptional brightness when cut and polished, making it highly desirable for luxury applications.
    • Flesh-red varieties are intensely vibrant, making them premium materials for carved ornaments.

This geological assessment underscores the high-quality and commercial potential of the jade marble deposit, reinforcing its value for decorative applications, carving, and luxury stone products.
