Grey Marble Mosaic Tiles Installation: Base Layer Preparation

1. Base Layer Treatment

A. Leveling Mortar Hollowing Treatment

• If hollowing occurs between the leveling mortar base and the wall, remove the hollow cement mortar and restore the leveling layer.

B. Flatness Requirements

• The base layer must be flattened before tile installation.
• Flatness within 2m should be controlled within 5mm.
• Cracks and blisters must be repaired and flattened before proceeding.
• A properly leveled base ensures efficient material usage and must pass inspection before tile installation.

2. Base Layer Preparation

A. Moistening the Base Layer

• For pool walls and ground surfaces, rinse the leveling mortar with water.
• Before application, ensure the base surface has 15%-25% moisture content.

B. Preparing the Grey Marble Mosaic Tiles

• Do not soak the tiles in water before installation.
• Simply wipe off surface dust; no additional adhesive treatment is required.

C. Surface Roughening for Smooth Stones

• If the bonding surface is smooth, roughen the stone surface before applying adhesive to enhance bonding strength.

3. Pre-Construction Checklist

• Confirm the installation of water pipes, wires, embedded bolts, and other equipment.
• Strengthen waterproofing measures before proceeding with construction.
