Handling, Storage, and Transportation of Gray Sandstone Flagstone

Loading and Unloading

• When using hoisting equipment, it is advisable to use one box for each hoisting operation.
• Loading and stacking should be carried out in accordance with storage requirements.
• Transportation must be stable, and collisions are strictly prohibited.

Storage Requirements

• Gray sandstone flagstone slabs should be stored indoors; if stored outdoors, they must be covered.
• When stacked upright:
  • The smooth surfaces should be placed opposite each other.
  • The inclination should not exceed 15°.
  • The stack height should not exceed 1.6m.
• If upright stacking is not possible:
  • The smooth surfaces should be opposite each other.
  • The ground should be flat and solid.
  • Support points between layers should be aligned vertically.
  • The stack height should not exceed 1m.
  • After packaging, the stacking height should not exceed 2m.

1. Preparation of Base Layer

• Before construction, ensure that the base layer is:
  • Firm, smooth, and free of hollows.
  • Clean, with no oil stains, release agents, floating dust, putty, or loose objects that may hinder bonding.
  • Free from structural cracks and shrinkage cracks.
  • Fully cured before installation.

2. Treatment of the Base Layer

• Wet the base layer with clean water.
• Allow the water to absorb, ensuring no standing water before proceeding with the sweeping construction.
