Bathroom & Kitchen Door Frame and Threshold Installation

Scope of Application:

Key Considerations:

1. Bathroom Door Frame Base Plate

• The base plate root of the bathroom door frame should be approximately 20mm away from the gray stone mosaic surface of the threshold.
• Fill the root with waterproof cement to prevent water vapor penetration, which can cause paint deformation and mold on the door frame.
• The base layer of the door frame must be treated for fireproofing, anti-corrosion, and moisture resistance.

2. Kitchen Door Cover & Threshold Stone Installation

• Water-stop strips must be installed at the lower mouth of the door slab.
• The bottom of the water-stop strip should be chiseled and set with grout and waterproofed uniformly with the ground.
• The elevation of the water-stop strip should be about 10mm lower than the indoor level.
• The threshold stone should be affixed using a special adhesive.
• Leave a 3mm seam between the stone threshold and the floor, then inject weathering glue (matching the floor or threshold stone color).
• To prevent moisture and mold, install the door cover and door cover line on the threshold stone.
• Leave a 3mm gap at the root of the door cover line and seal it with weatherproof glue (matching the door cover color).

• Marble stairs should be constructed on-site following the design drawings.
• The shape of the line and the anti-skid strips must adhere to design requirements.
• Material Mix:
  • Dark gray stone mosaic:
    • Use 32.5MPa ordinary Portland cement mixed with medium/coarse sand (mud content ≤ 3%) in a 1:3 ratio.
  • Light-colored stone mosaic:
    • Use 32.5MPa white cement mortar mixed with white stone chips in a 1:3 ratio.
