1. Initial Grinding and Inspection
- After the initial grinding, wash the marble surface and allow it to dry completely.
- Inspect the surface for holes or damages:
- Large and Few Holes: Use solid repair glue of a similar hue.
- Many and Small Holes: Use liquid repair glue for batch repairs.
- Linear Damage: Determine the stone's texture and color, and select matching repair glue for an accurate repair.
Important Notes:
- When using liquid repair glue, ensure the ratio of catalyst to curing agent is appropriate to avoid improper drying or overheating.
- Liquid glue must be polished the next day after application.
- For light-curing repairs, take anti-ultraviolet precautions.
2. Medium Grinding Treatment (No. 150)
- Remove excess repair glue from the surface and refine the flatness of the grinding surface to prepare for polishing.
Standards for Medium Grinding:
- No scratches from No. 50 grinding.
- No residual glue left on the stone surface.3. Secondary Repairs
- Address any omissions or glue losses from the previous processes.
4. Corner Grinding Treatment (Trimming)
- For edges and corners that cannot be reached by large machines or where scratches remain from primary or medium grinding:
- Use special edge-grinding equipment (supporting angle grinders with 50-150-300-500 water-grinding sheets).
- Perform connection processing for edge grinding and polishing.
Standards for Trimming:
- No notches at the corners.
- Edges must be free of burrs and scratches.
5. Fine Grinding Treatment (No. 300-500-1000-3000)
- After ensuring the flatness achieved during the initial and medium grinding processes, this step focuses on improving the stone’s gloss in preparation for polishing.
Key Points:
- Starting from No. 500, prioritize edge grinding before addressing the middle of the surface.
- Use edging techniques effectively:
- With a 220 machine, move from front to back to ensure the machine’s work plate aligns with the wall.
- With a 380 machine, lean the machine's corner close to the wall for effective perimeter grinding.
