Expert Installation Insight:
When installing Black Travertine, space planning and support structure are critical.
After the angle steel is cut, it is burned in the space between the channel steel:
The distance from the wall to the black travertine finish generally requires a gap of 85-100mm, which is a common standard. However, in situations where space is limited, the angle steel is often cut in sections and embedded between the main keel (channel steel). This method, while less conventional, is useful in tight spaces.
For installations using 6.5# channel steel, the wall-to-finish distance needs to be 130-180mm. On inner walls, where 6.3# or 5# sizes are used, the distance decreases accordingly. This approach allows for better layout planning and tolerance adjustment when installing Black Travertine.
The auxiliary keel (angle iron), typically 4# or 5# with a wall thickness of 3.5–5mm, is connected to the horse (support plate) and offers some flexibility, making it a practical solution for concrete walls below 10 meters in height. In these cases, the finished surface is around 70mm, and chemical bolts are used to secure the angle iron. This ensures firm anchoring by bonding the anchor rod with synthetic resin mortar.
This method is especially common in shopping mall column installations, providing adequate load-bearing support. However, for large wall surfaces, it’s not preferred due to challenges in maintaining flatness and verticality, which are key for safety and precision in Black Travertine installation.
