Scope
This process standard applies to common and high-grade fresh-made black terrazzo tile flooring projects in industrial and civil buildings.
Construction Preparation
2.1 Materials and Main Equipment
2.1.1 Cement
- White or light-colored black terrazzo tile flooring surface layer: Use white cement.
- Dark-colored black terrazzo tile flooring surface layer: Use Portland cement, ordinary Portland cement, or slag Portland cement (not less than Grade 425).
- The surface layer of the same color must use the same batch of cement.
2.1.2 Mineral Pigments
- Must be light-resistant and alkali-resistant mineral pigments.
- Acid pigments must not be used.
- The mixing amount should be 3% to 6% of the cement weight or determined through testing.
- The same color surface layer should use the same factory and batch of pigments.
2.1.3 Grain
- Should be made from hard and grindable dolomite, marble, or other rocks.
- The stone must be clean and free of debris.
- Particle size: 4-14mm, except for special requirements.
2.1.4 Grid Bar
2.1.4.1 Glass Strip
- Cut from flat ordinary glass, 3mm thick, and generally 10mm wide (depending on surface layer thickness).
- Length is determined based on block size.
2.1.4.2 Copper Strip
- 1-2mm thick copper plate cut into 10mm width (depends on surface layer thickness).
- Length determined by grid size.
- Must be straightened and leveled before use.
2.1.5 Sand
- Medium sand, sieved with an 8mm aperture.
- Mud content ≤ 3%.
2.1.6 Oxalic Acid
- Available in lumpy and powdery forms.
- Must be diluted with water before use.
2.1.7 Other Materials
- White wax
- No. 22 iron wire
2.1.8 Main Machines and Tools
- Black terrazzo tile flooring machine
- Roller (diameter: 200-250mm, length: 600-700mm, made of concrete or iron)
- Wooden trowel
- Hairbrush, iron dustpan, ruler, trolley, flat spade
- 5mm aperture sieve
- Whetstone (coarse, medium, and fine)
- Rubber water pipes, large and small buckets, brooms, wire brushes, ironware, etc.
2.2 Operating Conditions
2.2.1 Preliminary Construction Requirements
- Ceiling and wall plastering must be completed and accepted.
- Waterproof layer of the roof must be finished.
2.2.2 Site Readiness
- Door frames must be installed and protected.
- Water and electricity pipelines related to the ground must be installed in place.
- Pipe holes passing through the ground must be sealed tightly.
2.2.3 Ground Cushion Preparation
- After finishing the ground cushion, leave the required thickness for the grindstone layer (at least 3cm).
2.2.4 Stone Preparation
- Stone particles must be sieved separately and cleaned, ensuring they are free from debris.
