How to Care for a Black Stone Granite Vanity Top
Granite black stone vanity tops are among the easiest to maintain. Follow these care tips to keep your vanity top looking as bright as new for a long time.
Daily Care Tips
- Use a soft cloth for cleaning. The preferred cleaning agent should be neutral and non-abrasive—mild dishwashing liquid and water work best.
- Some daily cleaners can be used, but they may leave marks. Occasional use is fine, but frequent use of harsh cleaning products can break down the sealing agent. Warm water and a sponge are the safest cleaning options.
- A vinegar and water solution effectively removes stains and oil residue.
- Avoid exposing marble, limestone, or pure black granite to citric acid, vinegar, or other acidic substances, as they can cause corrosion.
- Furniture polish can occasionally be applied to reduce fingerprints and enhance the countertop’s appearance.
- Granite is resistant to high and low temperatures. You can place hot tableware directly on the surface without damage.
- However, avoid placing hot items on seams, as epoxy resin in the gaps may melt with prolonged heat exposure.
- Cutting directly on the countertop won’t damage the granite, but it is not recommended since it will dull your knives quickly.
