Beige sandstone is a type of sedimentary rock, mainly found in the Luliang Mountain area of Shanxi, China. It has fine grains, a brittle texture, and unique patterns, ranging from tree ring-like textures to abstract landscapes. Due to environmental influences, it has a distinctive northern yellowish hue and is well-known for its natural texture, rich color, and excellent carving properties.

One of the major sandstone-producing areas is Xinjiang County, where sandstone is classified into several colors:

Formation Process
