Best Marble Colours for Window Sills
Panda White marble
Panda White marble has a bright white ground with bold black veining. It is a popular choice for sills and thresholds. We supply it polished or honed at 16, 20 and 30mm thicknesses, and as a full program including windowsills, floor tiles, countertops, stairs and wall panels.
White marble
For a quieter look, white marble is supplied with window sills, skirtings, steps and risers in polished or honed finishes, with machine-cut or round edges.
Sahara Beige marble

Thickness and Finish
Pick the thickness to match the wall depth and the look you want; thicker boards look more solid and allow a deeper edge profile. For Panda White, standard slab thicknesses are 16, 20 and 30mm. Other stones are cut to the thicknesses on their product pages or to your specification.

Edge Profiles
The front edge is the part everyone sees. Our product pages list machine-cut (square) edges and round edges for sills; for any other profile, show it on your drawing and we will confirm whether it can be made. Also note whether the ends that return into the wall need finishing.
How to Measure Marble Window Sills
- Measure the width of the opening, then add the extra length you want on each side if the sill extends past the reveal ("horns").
- Measure the depth from the window frame to the wall face, then add the overhang you want past the wall.
- Note the thickness, finish, edge profile and which edges need polishing.
- Measure every window separately. Openings in the same building are often slightly different.

Installation and Care Tips
- Set sills on a full, level bed of a suitable adhesive or mortar so they are supported along their length.
- For external sills, ask your installer about a slight fall away from the window and a drip groove underneath, so water runs off.
- Seal marble with a good stone sealer after installation and reseal when water stops beading.
- Clean with water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid vinegar, lemon and other acidic cleaners, which can etch marble.
- Use saucers under plant pots to avoid water rings.
